Head Over Heels: Yoga for Balance, Confidence & Connection

$60.00

A playful yoga workshop for teen girls ages 12–18 to turn upside down and gain a new perspective, build confidence, find balance, and connect - on and off the mat.

Sometimes life feels a little upside down.

School gets busy, friendships get complicated, expectations pile up, and finding your balance can feel like a challenge all on its own.

In Head Over Heels, we’ll literally turn things upside down as we explore what handstands can teach us about finding balance in everyday life. A handstand takes strength, focus, courage, and a willingness to fall - and try again. It also asks us to trust ourselves, shift our perspective, and discover that balance isn’t about standing perfectly still. It’s about learning how to adjust when things change.

Through yoga, playful handstand practice, breathwork, reflection, and connection, we’ll explore building confidence, staying grounded when life feels unsteady, and finding your own version of balance.

Led by a licensed therapist (LCSW) and experienced yoga teacher (RYT-200), this workshop gives teen girls ages 12–18 a safe space to move, laugh, challenge themselves, connect with others, and leave with practical tools for navigating the ups and downs of the school year.

No handstand or yoga experience required - just come ready to flip the script, have fun, and turn things upside down.

When: Sunday, October 11, 2026 1-4pm HST

Where: Blue Lotus Kailua (1300 Kailua Road, Kailua, HI 96734)

Cost: $60

*Minimum of 6 participants needed to run this Yoga Circle series.

Sarah developed Yoga Circle during summer 2015 to teach teen girls how to tune into their body, mind, and spirit through her unique method of integrating group counseling with the 8 limbs of yoga. As a licensed therapist (LCSW) and former high school counselor, psychology educator, and yoga instructor at Punahou School, Sarah has over 2 decades of experience running girls groups and teaching teens how to embody their best selves through yoga, group counseling, and self-reflection.

Based on current research, we know that kids who practice yoga regularly experience increased body awareness, confidence, concentration, patience, mindfulness, creativity, and emotional control. Moreover, adolescent girls who practice yoga regularly develop healthier body images, eating habits, self-esteem, and strategies for coping with stress.

If your child is aged 12-18, identifies as female, and would benefit from this workshop to build confidence, find balance, and connect - on and off the mat - when life turns upside down, join us!

Check out what previous Yoga Circle students have to say about these classes:

“Through this class, I learned to breathe through my stress rather than break down. I haven’t mastered it yet, but with continued practice, I will be able to use my breath to connect back to myself when I feel stressed out.”

“This class helped me learn how I sometimes get caught up in my head and don’t listen enough to my true self.”

“This class isn’t just about doing poses and learning technique... It is a chance to get away from all the stress and demands of daily life and connect with not only the other people in the class, but also with yourself through your breath and your spirit.”
